Obituary of Kevin L. O'Brien (WILLIAMSVILLE) Kevin L. O’Brien, age 30, died April 11, 2020 in Hospice Buffalo after courageously fighting Pancreatic Endocrine Cancer for several years. Upon receiving his diagnosis for having six months to live, he thumbed his nose and fought valiantly for almost seven years without complaint, anger or self-pity. As his father said, “…he just rolled on.” Kevin was born September 2, 1989 in Amherst to Brian and Joann (Schwartz) O'Brien and had lived there his entire life. Kevin was a self-employed computer repairman/programmer and was a veracious reader. He enjoyed magic, in particular coin magic. He also was a master of a variety of other skills to include lock-picking, preparing sushi and playing the card game, “Magic-The Gathering”. Kevin was a kind, sweet and selfless person who never complained and approached everything with intensity and humor. Mr. O’Brien was predeceased by his mother Joann in 2015. He is survived by his father: Brian (Tess Moran) O’Brien, his brother: Ian O’Brien, uncle: Patrick (Peggy) O’Brien, aunt: Krista (Ray) Krol as well as several cousins. There will be no visitation. Kevin’s service and interment will be held privately at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice Buffalo, 225 Como Park Blvd., Cheektowaga, NY, 14227-1480.
