Obituary of Lawrence E. DiPalma Lawrence E. “Larrie” DiPalma age 69 died February 11, 2019 at the Buffalo VA Hospital following a short illness. He was born October 1, 1949 in Albion, the son of the late Chester and Virginia (Nenni) DiPalma and had lived in this area all of his life. Larrie had served in the US Army during the Vietnam War and was awarded the Purple Heart. He was a participant of the Honor Flight to Washington D.C. He had worked for the Orleans County Sheriff’s Department from 1972-1996 and then the Marine Patrol from 2000-2016. He was the Range Instructor for Orleans County for several years and had also worked part-time for the Town of Carlton snow plowing and mowing. Larrie was an avid outdoorsman and marksman who loved to hunt, fish, golf, trap shoot and snowmobile. He was a hunting guide in South Dakota where he enjoyed his annual hunting trip. Larrie was very active in his community and was a member of Holy Family Parish, a life member of the Albion VFW Strickland Post #4635, lifetime member of Hickory Ridge Golf Club. He was also a member of St. Mary’s Archers Club, the Dye Hose Co. of the Albion Fire Department, the Orleans County Snow Drifters and in the past he had frequented the Albion Sportsmen’s Club and the Holley Rod and Gun Club. Larrie is survived by several cousins and many friends. Family and friends are invited to call at the Christopher Mitchell Funeral Homes, Inc. 21 W. Ave. Albion on Monday February 18th from 3:00pm-7:00pm. His Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday at 10:00am at Holy Family Parish-St. Joseph’s Church.
