Obituary of Leah Payne (ALBION)
Leah Payne, age 98, formerly of Northwood Apartments, died 11/15/2013 in The Villages of Orleans following a long illness. She was born 4/22/1915 in Albion to Arthur and Louise(Cooper)Benns. Leah moved away in 1947 and had returned back to the area where she has lived since 1970. Mrs. Payne was a member of the Knowlesville United Methodist Church, the busy Buddies of Lyndonville, the Medina Senior Citizens, and worked for 30 years as a program director at various Harness Racing Tracks including; Northfield, OH, Finger Lakes Racetrack and Buffalo Raceway. Mrs. Payne was predeceased by her husband Donald and dear friend Lee Minier. She is survived by, a cousin: David Foster of Medina and several dear friends including Marilyn(Michael)Kilborn and family of Albion. The family will receive friends at the Christopher Mitchell Funeral Homes, Inc. 21 West Avenue-Albion, FRIDAY 11/22/13 from 11a.m.-1p.m. where her Funeral Service will be held at 1 p.m. following calling hours. Private interment will be held in Mount Albion Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Knowlesville United Methodist Church or COVA. Visitation
