Obituary of Lee G. Brant (ALBION)
Lee G. Brant, age 74 of Albion, died 1/24/2017 unexpectedly at her residence. She was born 6/19/1942 in Medina to Charles Robert and Alberta(Parker)Goldsmith and had lived in this area all of her life. Lee graduated from Lyndonville Central School and worked as a bus driver for the Albion School District. Lee also drove bus for Orleans Community Action and for the Crossmen Drum Corp…a job she truly enjoyed. She enjoyed street racing in her earlier years and also was an Elvis Presley lover, but was passionate about all kinds of music. Lee will be remembered for her kind heart, infectious laugh and her bear hugs. She never put anyone else, (or their concerns,) ahead of her own as she was the hub in the center of the wheel that kept her family together. She enjoyed knitting, cold Coca Cola and her grandson Cooper…who was her entire world. She was all about family. Lee never missed a sporting event, drama club production or drag race. Not one band or chorus concert was missed when it came to her grandchildren. She was their greatest supporter, the one shouting the loudest, and the first one to stand up and dance to a good song! She was the one who pulled YOU onto the dancefloor to jitterbug. When she was driving for the Crossmen or the school, the kids on the bus were “her” kids. She was very strong-willed but was the neighborhood “Mom” that every child dreamt of having. She truly touched the lives of many children in a great and loving way. Lee was predeceased by her brother: Tommy. She is survived by her son: Michael Lee(Linda)Haight of Albion, her daughter: Brenda Lee Haight of Albion, 3 grandchildren: Jamie Lee(Josh)Traxler, Michael Lee(Stephanie)Haight Jr., Ryan Mitchell Haight, her great grandson: Cooper Lee Traxler as well as several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at the Christopher Mitchell Funeral Homes, Inc. 21 West Avenue-Albion, SATURDAY 4-8 p.m. where her Funeral Service will be held SUNDAY at 3 p.m. Private interment will be held in Lynhaven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to: The Albion Purple Eagles Marching Band, c/o Michael Thaine-Albion Central School, 302 East Ave., Albion, NY, 14411.
