Obituary of Leo A. Spohr Leo A. Spohr age 76, died Thursday February 2, 2017 at the Absolut Care of East Aurora following a long illness. He was born March 11, 1940 in Rochester, a son of the late Erwin and Sylvia (Gundy) Spohr and had lived in this area all of his life. Leo had served in the U.S. Army. He had worked for 27 years as the Town Assessor for the Town of Carlton and he was also the Town Assessor for the Town of Gaines for 16 years. He was a member of the Assessor’s Association of NY. He loved tinkering on his tractors, computers and he also loved woodworking. In addition to his parents, Leo was predeceased by his sisters Sylvia Edwards and Gloria Costello. He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Fran; his daughters Barb (Patrick) Lamka of Barre, Tammy (Michael) Blue of Albion, Nicole Spohr of Albion; grandchildren Sydney, Page, Timothy, Sarah; great-granddaughter Sophia; brother Henry Costello of Carlton; Miss Shelby his cat, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. The family will receive friends at the Christopher Mitchell Funeral Homes, Inc. Monday February 6th 4:00pm-6:00pm where his Funeral Service will follow at 6:00pm.
