Obituary of Leonard D. Radzinski (ALBION)
Leonard D. Radzinski age 89 of Moore Street, died 6/18/14 in Medina Memorial Hospital after a long illness. He was born 3/10/1925 in Albion to Anthony and Catherine(Karlowski)Radzinski and was a lifetime resident of this area. As a United States Air Force Veteran of WWII, Mr. Radzinski achieved the rank of Sergeant and served in British Guyana at Atkinson Field. A 1942 graduate of Albion Central Schools, Len was a 33 year employee and Supervisor at T.J. Lipton Company. He was a member of Holy Family Parish, and the Albion VFW. Len loved working in his garden-in particular nurturing his rose bushes. He was an avid bird feeder and watcher, and was an outstanding woodworker-having built many grandfather clocks in addition to various pieces of furniture. At the age of 43, he went to RIT where he became a Mentor to many older students and receiving an Associates Degree in Business Organization. He was a person with a good sense of humor and always enjoyed it when there was laughter around him. Mr. Radzinski was predeceased by his wife Mary, 3 brothers: Stanley Edwin and Arnold Radzinski and 1 sister: Charlotte Judwick. He is survived by several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at the Christopher Mitchell Funeral Homes, Inc. 21 West Avenue-Albion, TUESDAY from 5-8 pm where prayers will be said WEDNESDAY 9:30 am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Holy Family Parish at 10 am. Interment with Military Honors will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Rochester Chapter of the Multiple Sclerosis Society or Hospice of Orleans.
