Obituary of Lester H. Roth (GAINES)
Lester H. "Mutt" Roth, age 92 of Ridge Road, died 10/17/2014 in The Villages of Orleans following an illness of several months. He was born 7/21/1922 in Ridgeway to Fred and Lettie(Miller)Roth and was a life-long resident of this area. Mr. Roth was a United States Army Air Corp Veteran of WWII and a member of the Sheret Post American Legion. Mutt drove Tractor Trailer for Tyler Trucking in Oakfield until his retirement in 1984. He was a member of the Teamsters Union and was the long-time Caretaker of Otter Creek Cemetery…taking great pride in the upkeep and maintenance of that space. Following his retirement, he kept busy with his woodworking-making tables and refinishing furniture. Mr. Roth was predeceased by his brothers: Leon, Fred Jr., Arnold and a sister Patricia Shenberger. He is survived by his wife of 70 years Irene, his daughters: Marjorie Page of Albion, Christine Sartwell of Albion, Arlene(Roger)Rafter of Rochester, brothers: Robert(Alice)Roth of Ridgeway, Paul(Jolene)Roth of NC, sister: Helen Callan of Buffalo, 5 grandchildren: Kim(Mark)Burkhard, Jeff(Tina)Page, Terri(Mark)Loessl, Timothy Covell, Mary Covell, 9 great grandchildren, 1 great great granddaughter as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. There will be no prior calling hours. Private service and interment in Otter Creek Cemetery will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hospice of Orleans of a Charity of your choice. Visitation
