(Ocala, FL/Holley) Lillian “Dorothy” Knapp passed away June 14 at age 86, leaving behind her husband: Orren Van Orden and siblings: Beverly Wetzel and Harold (Debbie) Park, her children: Kathryn Q. (Wayne) Snell, Karen L. Burkhertzmeyer and Robert A. Knapp, Jr.
She was predeceased by her first husband: Robert A. Knapp, Sr., a daughter: Beverly Donnan as well as siblings: Wayland “Topper” Park, Janet Applegate and Lois Perry.
She was a life-long resident of the Holley, Clarendon, and Brockport area. After raising her children, she earned a Master's Degree in Special Education while attending Nazareth and Brockport State Universities. She taught at St. Mary’s School in Holley and in later years served as a substitute teacher in Holley, Kendall and Byron-Bergen Schools. Showing her love for her children, she volunteered at a Christian boys and girls youth camp in the summer and when in Florida, at the Good New Club at Oakcrest Elementary School in Ocala.
A graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to your favorite charity.
