Obituary of Lorena F. Patt (KENDALL) Lorena F. Patt, age 89, died unexpectedly February 26, 2019 at her residence. She was born on the Tonawanda Indian Reservation in Basom December 30, 1929 to Harrison and Ella (Johnson) Ground and had lived in this area her entire life. Lorena was a member of the Wolf Clan of the Seneca Nation and was a very strong and independent woman. She was a member of the Kendall United Methodist Church, the Kendall Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, and spent many years working at Murphy’s Department Store in Medina, in the kitchen at SUNY Brockport and on the Patt farm in Kendall. Lorena was always busy with something, whether it be patching something with her sewing skills, mowing the lawn, going to a party or banquet, planting a surprise plant in a relative’s or friend’s lawn, playing the accordion, guitar or electric guitar or having a ‘little snort’ with friends. Her family remembers her as a frugal person, making due with what she had and also a caring and inquisitive person who always was concerned about other people. She enjoyed pictures, not only taking them but displaying them as well. She adored her grandson John and would always give him her spare change from her pocket. Her mission in life was to care for her husband Ralph and while always smiling, making sure she had made his breakfast lunch and dinner. Lorena’s family will always think of her by remembering this, “The hurrier I go, the behinder I get.” Mrs. Patt was predeceased by her siblings: Myron Ground, Nelson Ground, Aveline Fredawyder and Harriet Sundown. She is survived by her husband of 66 years Ralph who she married November 22, 1952, her sons: Ronald (Judy) Patt of Brockport, James (Deborah) Patt of Clarendon, her grandson: John Patt, sisters-in-law: Margaret Buell of Kendall, Mercedes Patt of FL as well as a several nieces and nephews.
