Obituary of Lorraine G. Phillips .Lorraine G. "Rain" Phillips of Gasport passed away Tuesday, January 14, 2014 at Millard Fillmore Hospital. Mrs. Phillips was born in Ransomville, NY on January 16, 1933 daughter of the late Howard and Berenice (Gifford) Diez and she has lived all of her life in the Barker-Middleport area. She was employed as a receptionist at Apple Blossom Florist in Medina, NY. She enjoyed her family, was a lifelong member of the Countyline United Methodist Church, was President of United Methodist Women Assoc. for several years and was also a member of the Johnson Creek Senior Citizens. She and her husband Paul Phillips were married July 28, 1951 and he predeceased her in l998. She was also predeceased by a brother Howard (late Judy) Diez. She is survived by two children Timothy (Jane) Phillips and Cindy (Woodrow) Staples all of Barker, four grandchildren Stephen (Amanda) Phillips of Middleport, Denise Phillips of Barker, Criste Staples and Vanessa (Chad) Liddell all of Lockport. Also surviving is a great granddaughter Ashlyn Phillips of Middleport, a brother Robert (Ann) Diez and a sister Carol (Ronadl) Tucker all of Barker and several nieces and nephews. There will be no prior visitation. A Celebration of her Life will be held Tuesday at 1:00PM at the Countyline United Methodist Church with the Rev. Karen Smith officiating. Burial will be in Somerset Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
