Louise Lusk

January 11, 1931 — December 17, 2023

(Holley) Louise D. Lusk, age 92, passed away December 17, 2023, at Strong Memorial Hospital after a heart attack and further complications. She was born January 11, 1931, in Holley, a daughter of the late Michael and Mary (Donatelli) DeFilipps and had lived in this area all of her life. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband William Dix Lusk in 1998 and siblings Lewis, Sam, Dominic “Lefty”, George, Michael, Edward “EG”, Fedora, Edith, and David.

She is survived by her son Mark (Susan) Lusk; grandchildren Gregory Dix Lusk and James Payne, great-granddaughter Haylea Payne, as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She adored all her family and enjoyed the many family gatherings over the years.

Louise was an active member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, and the Murray-Holley Historical Society. She loved to read and travel; traveling to Italy, Hawaii, her cottage on Barkley Lake, various cruises, and to Venice, Florida where she wintered for 25 years. She loved her community and had many close life-long friends; and especially appreciated their support after losing most of her eyesight four years ago.

The family will receive friends at the Christopher Mitchell Funeral Homes, 16650 State Rte. 31, Holley on Friday January 19th 4-7pm. Her  Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday at 10:00am at St. Mary’s Church in Holley. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Mary’s Church, 9 South Main St., Holley NY 14470.
