Obituary of Lyle G Johnson Albion-
Lyle G. Johnson, 72, passed away on Friday, April 20, 2012 at the Villages of Orleans. He was a US Navy Veteran and was employed at Kodak until his retirement. He was a longtime member of Ducks Unlimited of which he was a former state chairman; and also Past President of the Sportsman Federation. After serving as Tri-County committee member, Lyle and his wife set out on thier own and formed the first Ducks Unlimited Chapter in Orleans County in 1979. In 2010 Lyle and his wife Gail were the recipients of the New York Conservationist of the Year award, In his spare time Lyle enjoyed duck hunting.
He is survived by his wife Gail (Thompson) of 42 years; brother, Richard Howes of Lockport; sister, Donna Moore of Albion; many nieces, nephews, and friends. He was predeceased by Mother and Stepfather, Marion (Roland ) Howes; siblings, Ronald, Arthur and Onnalee Howes. There will be no calling hours. Family and friends are invited to a celebration of life at 11:00am, on Wednesday, April 25, 2012 at the Merrill-Grinnell Funeral Home, 12 Ingersoll St., Albion.
