Obituary of Marilou I. Smith Marilou I. Smith of Basom, New York passed away Wednesday, November 7, 2012 at the Medina Memorial Healthcare System.
Mrs. Smith was born in Attica, NY on March 14, 1934 daughter of the late Claude and Dorothy (Erhardt) Goetz.
Mrs. Smith has lived over 50 years in Basom and she had her husband Laverne R. Smith were married July 26, 1958.
She reitred from the Holiday Inn in Batavia where she was employed as a housekeeper.
She was a member of St. Michael's Luthera Church in Wolcottsville and she enjoyed her family, camping, traveling, crocheting, watching birds in the summer and she enjoyed playing with the family pet dog.
She is survivied by her husband Laverne R. Smith, two sons Rodney Smith of Batavia, Randy Smith of Basom and her twin daughters Rebecca (Michael) Cherry of Oakfield and Rosalie (Richard) Robinson of the Town of Alabama, NY., five grandchildren Michael (Cara) Robinson of Elba, NY., Adam Smith of Batavia, Heather Smith of Rochester, Benjamin Cherry and Jessica Cherry both of Oakfield.
Also surviving is a great granddaughter Lola Robinson of Elba, NY., two brothers and six sisters Ruth (Donald) Smith of Kendall, NY, Nancy (Clare) Purdy of Michigan, Lynn (Lorene) Goetz of Elba, Wayne (Norma) Goetz of Attica, Patricia (Frank) King of Batavia, Joan (Robert) Lundmark of Oakfield, Sandy (Donald) Homer of East Bethany, NY., and Ceclia (Paul) Munger of Florida and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call Friday from 2 to 4 PM and 7 to 9 M at the Bates, Wallace & Heath Funeral Home, 38 State St., Middleport.
Funeral services will be held Saaturday at 11:00 AM at St. Michael's Lutheran Church, Wolcottsville with the Rev. Bruce Donley officiating.
Burial will be in St. Michael's Lutheran Cemetery, Wolcottsville.
Memorials to St. Michael's Lutheran Church would be appreciated by the Smith family.
