In Loving Memory of Mark J. Monacelli
Mark J. Monacelli, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, peacefully passed away with his loved ones by his side on November 28th, 2023, at the age of 69. Born on October 4th, 1954, in Albion, NY, to Geraldine and Felix Monacelli, Mark spent his entire life in Holley, NY.
Mark is survived by his devoted wife of 25 years, Debbie Monacelli, his son Bryan Monacelli (Mallorie), and his cherished grandchildren: Felix, Briella, Kailey, Kelly, Tabitha, and Jason. He is also survived by his sister, brother, and brother-in-law, Vicki Coykendall and Scott (Jennifer) Monacelli, Andy (Laurel) Gearhart along with nieces and nephews, Lindsey (Gary) Gallo, Benjamin, Aubree Monacelli, and Lily and Emma Gearhart.
Mark was a true renaissance man, embracing a multitude of passions and leaving a lasting impact on all who knew him. His gardens were a testament to his green thumb and love for cultivating beauty. In retirement, Mark found joy in playing golf with his friends, both in New York and Florida. Beyond the greens, he expressed his artistic side through painting, showcased his craftsmanship in carpentry, and delighted in creating delicious meals in the kitchen.
Mark's warm smile, gentle spirit, and diverse talents enriched the lives of those around him. He will be remembered not only for his love and dedication to his family but also for the vibrant tapestry of interests that defined his life. In the midst of grief, we celebrate the legacy of a man who lived life to the fullest and touched the hearts of many.
Calling hours will be held Friday December 1st, 2023 from 4 to 7 pm at Christopher Mitchell Funeral Home 16650 State Route 31 Holley, NY 14470. A memorial service to honor Mark's life will be held on December 2nd, 2023 at 10am at St. Mary’s church, S. Main St. Holley, NY 14470.
