Obituary of Marlin L. Walter Barre: Marlin L. Walter, age 77, passed away on February 24, 2018 at Strong Memorial Hospital after a short illness. He was born June 9, 1940 in Port Ann, PA to the late Roy E. and Sarah E. (Liddick) Walter. Marlin worked for many years at T.J. Lipton as the plant electrician before starting his own business, Marlin L. Walter Electric & Heating. He always enjoyed keeping busy, spending a lot of time helping out at his nephew’s farm, Haylett Farms, or driving veterans to appointments for the Orleans County Joint Veteran’s Council. He loved to drive tractors and travel all over the country with his wife Kay to see their children and grandchildren. His greatest love was spending time with his family and supporting the various activities his grandchildren were involved in. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister Ruth and brother Glenn. Marlin is survived by his wife of 54 loving years, Kay; children, Tom (Carrie) Walter, Jane (Jeff) Young, Anne (Ted) Koch, Chad (Sherry) Walter; siblings, Charles (Shirley) Walter, Dorothy (Chris) Askin, Allan (Mary) Walter; sister-in-law, Marcia Walter, brotherand sister-in-law, Pat (Connie)Saeva; 16 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. The family will receive friends at the Christopher Mitchell Funeral Homes, Inc. 21 West Ave. Albion, on Wednesday from 4:00-8:00pm. Marlin’s Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Holy Family Parish-St. Joseph’s Church on Thursday at 9:30am. Interment will be private and held at the convenience of the family at a later date.
