Obituary of Martha D. Zummo (ALBION)
Martha D. Zummo, age 104, formerly of East State Street, died 12/16/2016 in Unity Hospital following a brief illness. She was born 12/19/1911 in Albion to Albert and Maryanna Kwiatkowski and had been a resident of this area all of her life. Martha was a member of Holy Family Parish and was a former employee of General Electric in Brockport and T.J. Lipton Co. in Albion. Among her many hobbies, Martha enjoyed knitting and sewing but will be remembered by many for her awesome pies. Mrs. Zummo was predeceased by her husband: Francis Joseph, her son: Joseph, her daughter: Karen Curcio, brothers: John and William Bloom, her sister: Wanda Marks, and son-in-law: Roger Zurat. She is survived by her daughter in law: Joan Zummo of Churchville, her son-in-law: Vincent Curcio, 6 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at the Christopher Mitchell Funeral Homes, Inc., 21 West Avenue-Albion, TUESDAY 4-7 p.m. Family and friends are invited to meet at Holy Family Parish-St. Joseph’s Church WEDNESDAY at 9:30 a.m. for Martha’s Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hospice of Orleans, P.O. Box 489, Albion, NY, 14411 or the Holy Family Cemetery Fund.
