Obituary of Mary Jane Hallifax Mary Jane Hallifax (Landers), age 77, entered into rest on July 25, 2016 at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester. Born September 23, 1938 in Barker, NY she is the daughter of the late Sanford and Evelyn (Preisch/Ryan) Landers. Mary Jane married Glenn “Tom” Hallifax July 14, 1962 at St. Michaels Lutheran Church in Wolcottsville. She graduated from University of Buffalo and worked her early career as a nurse and later as a laboratory technician for Niagara County. Mary Jane was an avid doll collector and craftswoman, enjoyed writing and publishing books under her own name and with the Lockport group “The Write Touch,” loved to travel the world, and spending time with her family. Surviving are her children: Paul Hallifax, Gregory Hallifax, Christopher Hallifax and Susan (Bill) Fernandez; grandchildren: Thomas, Mary Margaret, Joseph, Amy, Geoffrey, Benjamin, and Timothy. Sister of M. John Landers and Sandy (Cindy) Landers. She was predeceased by her husband Glenn “Tom” and sister, Patricia Gaskill. Mary Jane is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invited to attend visitation at the Sherrie-Bream Funeral Home, 4521 Main Street, Gasport, NY on Friday, July 29, 2016 from 9 to 11 am. Funeral Services will be held immediately following at 11 am from the funeral home. Interment will be in Hartland Central Cemetery, Gasport, NY.
