Obituary of Mary Ann Tillman Mary Ann Tillman age 87 died September 29, 2019 at Strong Memorial Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She was born August 25, 1932 in Albion, a daughter of the late Maximilian and Anastasia (Wieczorek) Sledzinski and had lived in this area all of her life. Mary Ann and her husband owned and operated the Carlton Grill for 12 years. She also worked as executive director of the American Cancer Society in Orleans County. She has been active in many organizations, including:Hospice of Orleans with nursing/indirect care/companionship/promotional activities/fundraising; Office for the Aging with newsletter/special event support; a member of Holy Family Parish and the Catholic Daughters and helped with fundraising, served as a eucharistic minister delivering communion to homebound members, the local soup kitchen, President of Ladies of Charity, and director of the support group for her church’s bereavement committee. Mary Ann also volunteered with the American Red Cross, local libraries, St. Joseph’s School, the VA in Batavia, Oak Orchard Neighborhood Association, the Garden Club, Carlton Ladies Auxiliary, Knights of Columbus, Board of Public Health office and at her exercise class. She was predeceased by her husband Robert in 2011; her brother Donald Herrington. She is survived by her son Richard (Susan) Tillman of Grass Range MT, daughter Pat (Chris) Haines of Savanah GA; granddaughter Amanda (Darian) Abraham of Charleston SC; great-grandchildren Madelyn and Aiden as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. The family will receive friends at the Christopher Mitchell Funeral Homes, Inc. 21 W. Ave. Albion on Thursday October 3rd 3:00pm-6:00pm. Her Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday at 10:00am at Holy Family Parish. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Orleans, P.O.
