Matthew H. DeLosh

Syracuse: Matthew H. DeLosh, age 33, passed away suddenly on October 15, 2023. He was born September 13, 1990, in Syracuse, a son of James DeLosh Sr., and Trudy Renczkowski.

Matthew was known for his football career, playing for Henniger High School and as a semi-professional for the Syracuse Strong and Upstate Predators. Matthew loved spending time with his children and going fishing or golfing.

Matthew was predeceased by his father, James DeLosh Sr., brother, James “Jimmy John” DeLosh, Jr., maternal and paternal grandparents.

Matthew is survived by his wife of almost 5 years, Melissa (Piacente) DeLosh, children, Henry, Madison, and Jackson, mother, Trudy DeLosh, brother, Kevin (Jamie) Renczkowski, half siblings, BriAnne Passerell, Corey DeLosh, mother and father-in-law, Gary and Eileen Piacente, sisters-in-law, Lisa (Terry Davis) Piacente, Lindsay (Kenny) Fisher, Rachel Piacente, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.

A celebration of life service for Matthew will be held at The City Church, St. Anthony’s 114 Liberty Street,
Batavia NY 14020 at Monday, October 23rd at 4:00pm. Another service to celebrate Matthew’s life further will be held in the Syracuse area with a date to be announced.
