Obituary of Maurice Smith (Waterport) Maurice John Smith age 79 died peacefully on March 5, 2015 at Rochester General Hospital following a brief illness. He was born May 4, 1935 in Albion, a son of the late John Thomas and Elizabeth Viola (Cole) Smith and had lived in the Albion, Waterport area all of his life. John had owned and operated Albion Body Shop in Eagle Harbor for over 25 years. He had served for 9 ½ years in the National Guard. John and his father had built the Crusaders Motorcycle Track in Medina where he loved to race motorcycles and had won many championships. He was an avid NASCAR fan and loved to golf, work on cars, John Deere Tractors, gardening and watching the birds at the bird feeder. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his siblings Gary, Shirley, Pam, Rebecca, Darrell, Darlene. He is survived by his significant other of 25 years, Susan Paul; daughter Tricia Smith of Albion; step-children Tammy (Dennis) Smith of NC, Kelly (Jim) Fairchild of Hilton, Jody States of FL, Mike (Michelle) Coots of Waterport, Robert (Linda) Coots of Albion; grandchildren Codey States, Zackary and Andrew Fairchild, Keith Smith, Evan and Ryan Coots and a great-grandson on the way; brother Richard Smith; several nieces, nephews and cousins. The family will receive friends at the Christopher Mitchell Funeral Homes, Inc. 21 W. Ave. Albion Thursday March 12th 1:00-3:00 where his Memorial Service will be held at 3:00pm. Burial will be in Sandy Creek Cemetery at the convenience of the family. Visitation
