Michael A. DeFilipps

(Holley)  Michael A. DeFilipps age 62 passed away April 24, 2022 at Strong Memorial Hospital following a long illness.  He was surrounded by his loving family.  He was born June 29, 1959 in Brockport, a son of Patricia (Wilson) and the late Michael DeFilipps and had lived in this area all of his life.

Michael was a highly skilled carpenter who was passionate about his job.  He loved the outdoors and enjoyed kayaking and being around water whether it be the beach, ocean or a pool.  He loved watching baseball, his favorite team was the Oakland A’s and in his younger years played in many softball tournaments.  Michael loved all animals, especially his 2 cats.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife and best friend for over 30 years, Marla; his sisters Debra DeFilipps, Janet (Steven) Smith; his brother Patrick (Kris Moore) DeFilipps; mother-in-law and father-in-law Margaret Fay and Paul Sugar; in-laws Rene (Kelly), John, Faye (Don), Kara (Greg), Erin (Todd), Matthew (Sharon), Damian (Tracy) as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family will receive friends at the Christopher Mitchell Funeral Homes, Inc. 16650 State Route 31, Holley NY 14470 Friday April 29th 4-6pm where a brief prayer service will follow at 6pm.  Memorials may be made to an animal shelter of your choice.
