Mildred Shaffer Lyons

Obituary of Mildred Shaffer Lyons Mildred “Shirley” Lyons (Shaffer) age 76, of Gasport, entered into rest on Tuesday, June 26, 2012 surrounded by her loving family. Born on October 7, 1935 in Hasting, PA, she is the daughter of the late Dorse and Lena Mae (Boring) Shaffer. Shirley attended Blacklick School in Pennsylvania. She married Donald G. Lyons July 3, 1954. Donald died September 14, 2008. Shirley enjoyed working in the Delphi Café for Eurrest Dining Services for 13 years retiring in 1997. She was a member of the UAW Chapter 9. Spending time with her family, bowling, baking, shopping, crossword puzzles, and listening to country music were some of the things that Shirley liked to do. She had lived in Gasport for the past 54 years, previously of Pennsylvania. Surviving are Shirley’s daughters: Judy (Steve) Spencer of Gasport, Janet Lyons (Chris Donahue) of Gasport and Donna (John) Vetter of Lockport. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband and 10 siblings. Family and friends are invited to attend visitation at the Sherrie-Bream Funeral Home, 4521 Main Street, Gasport, on Friday from 5 until 8 pm and Saturday from 12 until 3 pm. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, June 30, 2012 at 3:00 pm with the Reverend Rodney Klinzing officiating.
