Obituary of Noel Boccaccio GREECE: Noel Boccaccio, 80, passed away peacefully with friends by his side, on February 9, 2021. He was born May 19, 1940, in Holley to the late Emilio and Jennie Boccaccio. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother Joel, and longtime companion Dorothy, who affectionately called him "Spider legs". Noel spent his youth in Holley playing baseball with his friends in the neighborhood, working at the local grocery store, and hanging out at his father's barbershop. As a young adult, he briefly lived in LeRoy where he attended a day program operated by the ARC of Genesee County. In 1980, he moved into a home supported by Lifetime Assistance, Inc (LAI). For more than 40 years, and right up until the time of his passing, Noel lived in LAI supported residences. He resided in several different homes in the Brockport and Greece areas, and attended LAI day programs in Brockport, Chili and Greece. Noel enjoyed taking trips back to his hometown of Holley to visit the local diner where he was sure to run into someone he knew from childhood. Anyone who knew Noel, knows he was a fan of old western movies. He often referred to himself as a cowboy and he loved John Wayne! Noel enjoyed Rochester Redwings games, going out to eat (especially for desserts), and going anywhere he could see tractor trailers. He also enjoyed playing cards, drinking coffee, fishing, building things with a hammer and nails, and telling stories of his childhood. Noel is survived by countless friends including his advocate Tasha, and longtime friend Larissa ("Marissa"), who both held a piece of his heart.
