Obituary of Pauline Trupiano Burgio ~~Pauline Trupiano Burgio, died October 26, 2017 at the age of 90 from a sudden illness.
Mrs. Burgio was predeceased by her husband, Patrick J Burgio, Sr., whom she was married for over 50 years. She was also predeceased by her parents, James and Mary Trupiano and her brother, Vincent. She is survived by two children, David Emanuel Burgio (Margaret) & Patrick John Burgio Jr. (Victoria), 7 grandchildren: Jonathan (Amy), Teresa (Dan), Andrew (Stacy), David (Tina), Alysia, Lexi, Amanda; 3 great-grandchildren: Luca, Serafina, Lincoln; sister Josephine Wallin (Brockport, NY) godson, James Bell (Marie), sisters-in-law Jean Turpiano, Rae O'Brien; longtime family friend, Rae Greco (Lockport, NY) & family, goddaughter, Joan Aul; niece and nephews, many friends.
She had a smile and charisma that lit up a room and stayed in your heart. She relished life, loved entertaining her family and friends, traveling to many places, cooking and baking, reading a good book and teaching children.
She was a loving, kind, understanding & thoughtful wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend to all those that touched her life.
Mrs. Burgio attended Albion High School (Albion, NY) and Brockport State University, originally Brockport Normal (Brockport, NY) graduating at only 19. She taught First Grade for nearly 35 years in Lockport, NY, & Jamesville, NY. She was recognized as a gifted teacher having received Teacher of the Year Award from Syracuse University. Enjoyed retirement in the Adirondack Mountains on Fourth Lake and Ocala, FL, for years with her husband Patrick, enjoying golf, boating and precious time with her family. Member of the Royal Dames Society in Ocala, FL, and a former member of Delta Kappa Gamma (International sorority of excellent educators). Her last 10 years were spent in Milford, MI, where she had many friends.
There are no prior calling hours. Her Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, Nov. 4, 2017, at Holy Family Parish Albion, NY at 11:00am. Burial in St Joseph's Cemetery, Albion, NY. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society in her name.
