Obituary of Penthea J. Curtis (Clarendon) Penthea J. “Penny” Curtis age 51 died November 8, 2019 following a courageous battle with High Grade Neuroendocrine Carcinoma. She was surrounded by her loving family. Penny was born March 30, 1968 in Brockport, a daughter of Dora (Cronk) and the late Herbert Merkley, Sr. and had lived in this area all of her life. Her family was her life and she loved spending time with them. Penny loved to laugh, draw, truck mudding and traveling; she visited 22 states and her favorite was New Orleans. Penny is survived by her daughters Cortney (Derek) Sevor, Jennifer Curtis; her son George (Morgan Tinkous) Curtis; her grandchildren Charlotte and Sullivan Sevor, Greyson Curtis; her mother Dora Merkley her siblings Suzette Hahn, Yvonne (Phil) Newbould, Sarah Davis, Sandy (Scott) Ellis, Joseph Merkley, Herbert (Stephanie) Merkley, Corrinda (Michael) Shepherd; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. The family will receive friends at the Christopher Mitchell Funeral Homes, Inc. 16650 State Rte. 31 Holley Wednesday November 13th 2-4 & 6-8 where her Funeral Service will be held on Thursday at 11:00am. Interment will be in N. Byron Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Orleans, P.O. Box 489, Albion NY 14411.
