Philip A. Burgess

Obituary of Philip A. Burgess Philip Burgess age 77 died on October 4, 2017 at Medina Memorial Hospital following a long illness; he was surrounded by his loving family. Phil was born December 23, 1939 in Medina, a son of the late Athol and Clarissa (Burlingame) Burgess and had lived in this area for most of his life. He and his wife had lived in Rosenberg TX for over 20 years before returning back to this area. Phil was a member of the VFW Post #1438 of Medina, Loyal Order of Moose,Medina Lodge #647 and was also a Boy Scout Leader for Troop #28 of Medina. He loved hunting, camping and was an avid Buffalo Bills and Buffalo Sabres Fan. He was predeceased by his wife Lora in 2013 and his grandson Shawn Burgess. Phil is survived by his children Deborah (Frank) Gardner of SD, Philip “Scooter” (Lynn) Burgess of Albion, Sandra (Peter) Crandall of Lockport, Paul (Sheryl) Burgess of Lyndonville, Patrick (Melanie) Burgess of TX; 18 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; sister Judith Doldan of FL; several nieces, nephews, cousins, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. The family will receive friends at the Christopher Mitchell Funeral Homes, Inc. 21 W. Ave. Albion Friday October 27th 2:00pm-4:00pm where his Memorial Service will follow at 4:00pm. Burial will be in Transit Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Orleans, PO Box 489, Albion NY 14411,Office for the Aging, 14016 Rte. 31 W.
