Philip E. Knight

Obituary of Philip E. Knight Albion: Philip Knight age 78, died suddenly July 17, 2014. He was born December 5, 1935 in Albion a son of the late Michael and Anne (Vinn) Knight. Phil had lived in this area all his life and was a member of Holy Family Parish-St. Joseph's Church and a former member of the Knights of Columbus. He was employed at T.J. Lipton for 27 years retiring in 1981 when the plant closed. After retiring from Lipton's, Phil worked for the Village of Albion as the Superintendent at Mt. Albion Cemetery for 11 years. Phil enjoyed playing poker, gardening, fishing and always keeping busy. But no matter how busy he was, he always enjoyed spending time with his family.
He was predeceased by his brother, Arthur. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Brenda; children, Susie (Kevin) Parker of Albion, Michael (Nancy) Knight of Spencerport, Lauri Keeler of Albion; grandchildren, Anthony, Patrick, Jenny, James, Maria, Joanne, Jason, Matthew, Emily, Michael, Kimberly; 10 great-grandchildren; sisters, Freda Culmo of Albion, Delores Knight of Shelby; sister-in-law, Ruth Knight of FL. several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at the Christopher Mitchell Funeral Homes, Inc. 21 W. Avenue, Albion, Sunday from 1:00-5:00. Phil's Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Holy Family Parish-St. Joseph's Church, Monday at 10:00am. Private interment Mt. Albion Cemetery.
