OBITUARY  NOTICE

(LOCKPORT)

Phyllis H. Beckstein, age 94, died May 21, 2022 in Elderwood of Williamsville following a brief illness.  She was born April 13, 1928 in Buffalo to Frank and Magdalina (Fleishman) Martin and was a life-long resident of this area.

Phyllis was the past owner/operator of the Fad and Fancy Craft Store, a member of the Red Hat Society, a former member of All Saints Parish, and was a long-time volunteer at Lockport Memorial Hospital and the Lockport Soup Kitchen.  Mrs. Beckstein was predeceased by her husband Charles, and brothers: Robert and Donald Martin.

She is survived by her children: Mark (Deborah Watts) Beckstein of Middleport, Marcy (Chris) Merkle of NC, David Beckstein of Lockport as well as several nieces and nephews.

There will be no calling hours.  Private service and entombment in Glenwood Mausoleum will take place at the convenience of the family.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Zion Lutheran Church, 4447 Central Ave, Gasport, NY, 14067 or All Saints Parish, 76 Church St., Lockport, NY, 14094.  Phyllis’s arrangements have been entrusted to the Sherrie Bream Funeral Home of Gasport.  To share a special memory of Phyllis, please visit: www.mitchellfamilyfuneralhomes.com
