Obituary of Pungross "Pete" Carroll Barre: Pungross “Pete” Carroll died peacefully on Sunday April 23, 2017 surrounded by his family. He was born in a coal-mining camp in Kistler, WV on February 27, 1941 and spent his childhood in Huntington, WV. Pete moved to New York State when he was 15 years old. He loved NY and worked for the state highway and canal system for over 30 years. He took great joy in raising his children in his hilltop home in Barre, NY. He was a member of the Albion Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses for 47 years.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Marjorie (Baker); his children, Marjorie (Steven) Beecher, Melinda (Evhen) Tupis, Jeanette (Dondi) Mully, Pungross (Marlene) Carroll, Jesse (Kerry) Carroll, and Shannon (Dan) Kellman; his grandchildren, Nichole, Christopher, Kyle, Joshua, Curtis, Colton, Ethan, Spencer, Danielle, and Benjamin; as well as great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Claude and Tessie Carroll, as well as his siblings, Claude Jr, Minnie, Gertrude, Annabelle and Patrick and his daughter Kathy Joe. A public memorial service will be held on Friday, April 28, 2017 at 7:00pm at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses located at 14840 Route 31, Albion, NY.
