Obituary of Reid L. Daum Barre: Reid L. Daum 89, died November 6, 2014. He was born in Albion May 18, 1925 a son of the late Walter and Ethel (Reid) Daum and lived in this area all his life. Reid was a member of the Barre Center Presbyterian Church and a graduate of Albion High School class of 1943. He was employed at Rochester Products for 17 years and the U.S. Postal Service for 20 years, retiring in 1985. Reid enjoyed driving around looking at the scenery, especially the crops in the fields. He also enjoyed riding his John Deere, talking about farming and loved a great meal. Reid drove for many years for Meals on Wheels and delivering flowers for Petals and Lace Florist.
He was predeceased by his wife, Beverly in 1999, daughter, Deborah Postle in 2009, sister, Marilyn Daum in 2013. He is survived by his son, Ronald (Darlene) Daum of Bloomfield; son-in-law, David (Joann Monacelli) Postle of Albion; Reid's long time companion, Jane Eberle of Albion; grandchildren, James, Peter Daum, Eric, Nathan Postle, Corinne (Andrew) Wong; 3 great-grandchildren;
The family will receive friends at the Christopher Mitchell Funeral Homes, Inc. 21 W. Avenue, Albion, Tuesday November 11, from 4:00-7:00. Reid's Funeral Service will be held at the Barre Center Presbyterian Church, Wednesday at 11:00am. Interment will follow at Mt. Albion Cemetery.
