Obituary of Richard O. Daigler Richard O. Daigler, age 92, of Lockport, formerly of Newfane, entered into rest on Sunday, June 24, 2012 at Briody Health Care Facility in Lockport. Born June 8, 1920 in Burt, NY, he is the son of the late Leo A. and Elizabeth (Fleischman) Daigler. Dick was 1938 graduate of Newfane High School. He was a licensed public accountant at his own firm, Richard Daigler Accounting in Lockport from 1950 until retiring in 1983. He had also worked at Chevrolet Buffalo as a Supervisor from 1949 until 1957. Richard married Pauline L. Aikin August 6, 1965. Pauline died April 12, 2004. He was a member of St. Charles Borromeo R.C. Church, Lockport American Legion, B. Leo Dolan Post 410, and the Lockport Chamber of Commerce. Surviving are Dick’s children: Richard Daigler of Tampa, Fl., and Kathleen (Samuel) Schrift of Seminole, Florida. Step father of: Shirley (Charles) Salter of Olcott, Karen (Robert) Bates of Newfane and Dotty (Peter) Patterson of Newfane. He was predeceased by a son: Dennis Daigler, and siblings: Evelyn Fritton, Norbert Daigler, Raymond Daigler, Franklin Daigler, and Sister Agnes Loretta. 13 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive him. Family and friends are invited to attend visitation at the Kenneth H. Sherrie Funeral Home 6139 East Avenue, Newfane, NY on Wednesday from 2-5 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Brendan’s on the Lake (Newfane Site), 3455 Ewings Road, Newfane, NY on Thursday at 10:00 am. Interment will be in Cold Spring Cemetery, Lockport, NY.
