Obituary of Richard E. Daniels Brockport: Richard E. Daniels age 82, died suddenly September 21, 2013. He was born November 8, 1930 in Patterson IL. a son of the late Clayton and Vivian (Ashlock) Daniels and had lived in the Brockport and Holley areas most of his life. He served in the US Marine Corp. during the Korean War. Richard was an avid photographer and retired from Eastman Kodak Co. in 1986 but remained active in Kodak social events. He enjoyed traveling to Southern IL. where he grew up and Shelbyville MO., where he attended school, reuniting with classmates and friends. Richard also enjoyed gardening tomatoes and roses.
He was predeceased by his brothers, Billie Guy Daniels, Melvin Daniels, sister, Patricia Daniels. He is survived by his children, Vikki (Terry) Quinn of Hamlin, Richard (Lorrie) Daniels Jr. of Hamlin, Jacquelyn (Dick) DeMarco of Holley, Rory E. (Susan) Daniels of Chicago, IL. Jodi L. Daniels of Holley; 11 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren; special friend, Virgie Engle of Shelbyville MO.; brother, Allan (Carolyn) Daniels of Barrow IL., sisters, Sue Rittenhouse of Macomb IL., Ruth Bohannon of Chicago IL., sister-in-law, Delores Daniels of Hanover Park IL., uncle, Jack Ashlock of CO., several nieces, nephews, cousins.
The family will receive friends at Christopher Mitchell Funeral Homes, Inc, 16650 Route 31 (W. Albion Rd.) Holley, Wednesday from 4:00-8:00 and Thursday from 9:00-10:00am, where his Funeral Service will be held at 10:00am. Interment will be in Garland Cemetery with military honors.
