Obituary of Richard E. Heard Richard E. “Dick” Heard age 94 died on July 8, 2018 at his home. He was born July 4, 1924, a son of the late Thomas and Corinne (MacElwaine) Heard Sr. and had lived in this area all of his life. Dick had served in the US Army Air Corps during WWII and was a member of the Albion American Legion Sheret Post #35 as well as the Albion Elks Lodge B.P.O.E #1006. He was an avid bowler, reader and was mechanically inclined and could be found tinkering in his garage. After his retirement from Simplex Corp. Dick avidly supported his children and grandchildren’s local sporting events. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his brothers John “Pete”, Donald and Thomas Jr. He is survived by many dedicated nieces, nephews; his dear friend Lucille Bloom and her children, grand-children and great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends at the Christopher Mitchell Funeral Homes, Inc. 21 W. Ave. Albion on Saturday July 14th from 10:00am-11:00am where his Memorial Service will follow at 11:00am. Burial will be in Mt. Albion Cemetery with Full Military Honors. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Albion Alumni Foundation, PO Box 345, Albion NY 14411 or to the organization of one’s choice.
