Obituary of Richard A. Monacelli Sr. (Albion) Richard A. Monacelli Sr. age 76, lifelong resident of Albion and business owner, died May 3, 2011 at Strong Memorial Hospital following a long illness. He was born March 9, 1935 in Albion, a son of the late Guido and Lena (Colonna) Monacelli.
He was a member of Holy Family Parish, a member & past Grand Knight of the St. Joan of Arc 4th Degree Knights of Columbus and B.P.O. Elks Lodge #1006. He had served in the US Navy and was a member of the Strickland Post V.F.W. and the Sheret Post #35 American Legion. Rich had owned and operated Guido's Supermarket in Albion and was a Salesman at Tripi Foods. He served as associate judge for the NYS Racing and Wagering Board and most recently, he worked for the Lake County Pennysaver as a Sales Representative. Rich was a former Democratic County Chairman and he served as a Town of Albion councilman. He directed and organized K of C sports night for 26 years. He was very active and past president of the Albion High School Football Boosters, but most of all, his greatest love was his family.
