Obituary of Rita A. Navarra Rita Arlene Navarra (Caleb) died peacefully Sunday March 31, at the age of 76. She was the daughter of Edwin and Bernice Caleb (Koch) of West Shelby. She graduated from Medina High School in 1954, married her husband of 47 years, Vincent James, moved to Albion and raised five children.
She was a dedicated worker, helping in every business the family owned, including the family farm, three service stations, raising animals and especially Navarra's Greenhouse. She loved nature, flowers, old movies, travel and enjoyed Disney World on family vacations. Animals were a passion she passed on to all her children and grandchildren. Rita was a Religious Education teacher, Eucharistic Minister, Liturgy Committee member, bereavement committee member and enthusiastic decorator of church services for many years; an active member of Holy Family Parish. She was a former 4-H leader and enjoyed donating flowers to multiple organizations every season. Rita was predeceased by her husband Vincent in 2002 and her granddaughter Anne Mary Mrzywka. She is survived by five children Vincent James (Barbara) Navarra Jr., Pamela (David) Lusk, Paul Navarra, Joan Mrzywka, Janet Salvatore; 8 grandchildren Kathryn (Jonathan) Bradley, Elizabeth (Kirby) Durling, Peter and Courtney Lusk, Amanda, Jenna, Markus Mrzywka and James Vincent Salvatore; sisters Bette (Stephen) Leffler, Karen (Gar) Larson; brother Edwin (Kelly) Caleb; multiple nieces and nephews, cousins. The family will receive friends at the Christopher Mitchell Funeral Homes, Inc. 21 W. Ave. Albion Friday April 5th 4:00-8:00, where prayers will be said Saturday at 10:00 followed by her Mass of Christian Burial at Holy Family Parish-St. Joseph's Church at 10:30am. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Lake Plains Dialysis Center 11020 W. Center St. Ext. Medina NY 14013 or to the Charity of one's choice. Visitation
