Obituary of Robert Eckerd (Medina)
Robert A. Eckerd Sr., age 86 of Ricky Place, died 10/15/2014 in Orchard Manor Nursing Home following a long illness. He was born 1/20/1928 in PA to Peter and Belva Eckerd and had lived in this area over 70 years. Bob was a United States Army Veteran, a member of the Millville United Methodist Church, a former member of the Hartland Volunteer Fire Department, and the I.O.O.B. In addition to being an avid puzzle and word-find solver, Bob enjoyed bird-watching, lighthouses as well as putting together model airplanes and cars. As an outdoorsman, he also loved to hunt and fish. Mr. Eckerd is survived by his wife of 41 years Lois, his sons: Robert Eckerd and Norman Eckerd of Lyndonville, Michael Eckerd of Medina, Jeffrey(Kim)Yates of Gasport, his daughters: Laura Yates of Amherst, Vickie Patten and Julie(Gary)Kaplan of Plymouth, MA, Cindy(Gregory)Ackerman of ID, Rebecca(Ted)Chamalian of Tampa, FL, Cindy Eckerd of Medina, his brother: Peter(Carol Wheeler)Eckerd of PA, his sisters: Rebecca, Beverly, Georgie, Ada, Claire, Martha, Jean, Marian, many grandchildren, great grandchildren as well as nieces, nephews, and cousins. There will be no prior calling hours. Family and friends are invited to attend Bob's Memorial Service on TUESDAY 10/21/14 in the Millville United Methodist Church at 10 am where Military Honors will be held immediately thereafter. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Orleans of the Millville United Methodist Church. Visitation
