Obituary of Robert Fischer Robert G." Bob" Fischer, 82, of Albion, NY,
passed away on Tuesday, September 11, 2012, at
the N.Y.S. Veteran's Home, Batavia.
Born on October 31, 1929 in Brockport, NY, he
was the son of the late Harry C. and Helen M.
(Mulrooney) Fischer.
In 1951, Bob enlisted in the U.S. Army and
returned home in 1956. He was employed with
both the Town and Village of Albion as a heavy
equipment operator. Lastly, he drove truck for area
trucking companies. Bob enjoyed hunting and
fishing and was an avid Purple Eagle football fan.
Bob is survived by two sons, Robert Fischer,
who shares his birthday with his father, of Albion,
and Jonathan Fischer of Middleport; four
daughters, Linda (Ted) Barrus of Magnolia, TX,
Diana Fischer of Columbia, TN, Donna (George)
Whipple of Kent, NY, and Deborah (David) Torres
of Raleigh, NC; 10 grandchildren and 28 greatgrandchildren;
a brother, Harry (Charlotte) Fischer
of Cuilium, IL; two sisters, Marjorie Bezon of Elba
and Shirley (Bill) Rowles of Albion; also, many
nieces and nephews. Bob was predeceased by a
sister, Betty Buczeck.
There are no calling hours. A private service will
be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will
be in the Mount Albion Cemetery with full military
honors. Memorials may be made to the Albion
American Legion, Sheret Post # 35, 131 S. Main St.,
Albion, NY 14411.
