Obituary of Robert Hoot Albion: Robert J. Hoot, 75, of Albion, NY, died April 26, 2014, at Park Ridge Hospital. He was born June 4, 1938, to the late Mary (James) Theodorakos, his roots were firmly planted in Western New York. He graduated from Albion High School in 1955 and Alfred Ag and Tech in 1957, and went on to serve in the U.S. Coast Guard. He was an active community member throughout his life, dedicating time and effort to many local groups, including the First Baptist Church (member, deacon, choir), the Lions Club (president), the Chamber of Commerce (treasurer), and Meal on Wheels (10 years of delivery). He also leant his voice to many plays and musicals. He was employed by Bemis Bag Co. and T.J. Lipton during his career as an accountant. Despite years of community service, he always believed his greatest accomplishment to be his wonderful family.
He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Faye; daughter, Lisa (Steven) Hanks of Farmington, CT; daughter, Christine (Scott) Armstrong of Albion, NY; son, Scott Hoot of Lakewood, NY; and his grandchildren, to whom he gave all of his love. "Pa" will be affectionately remembered for his kindness, generosity, and endearing sense of humor.
The family will receive friends at the Christopher Mitchell Funeral Homes, Inc. 21 W. Avenue Albion, Saturday from 1:00-2:00, where his Memorial Service will follow at 2:00pm. Private interment in Mt. Albion Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Orleans County Meals on Wheels or the First Baptist Church of Albion. Visitation
