Obituary of Robert D. Rafter Rochester: Age 71, died September 18, 2013 after a long battle with dementia. He was peacefully laid to rest as an avid motorcyclist. He was born in Rochester July 16, 1942 a son of the late Frances (Oatman) and Robert Dawson Rafter, but was raised by his step-father George Heath. He served in the US Navy and worked at Eastman Kodak from 1966 until his retirement in 1991.
He is survived by his loving companion, Patricia Finelli; his children, Christine (Gary) Mufford of Albion, Shelly (Matthew) Hannah of Brockport, Barbara (David) Corey of Charlotte, NC., Kathleen (Edward) Rafter-Rutkowski of Waxhaw, NC., Michelle (James) Teal of Rochester; grandchildren, Kevin, Amber, Charlene, Robert, Lindsey, Claire, Connor, Nathan, Grant; great-grandchildren, Bridget, Carsyn, Aaliyah, Owen, Aryanna; siblings, Kenneth Heath, Michael Heath, George (Lisa) Heath; 1 niece, 1 nephew; lifelong friend, Diane Rafter; man's best friend, Harley.
The family will receive friends at the Christopher Mitchell Funeral Homes, Inc. 21 W. Avenue Albion, Monday (9/23/2013) from 11:00-2:00, followed by his graveside service at Mt. Albion Cemetery with Military Honors. A Celebration of his life will be held at the Sheret Post #35 American Legion in Albion following the service. Visitation
