Obituary of Robert J. Wilson, Sr. Holley: Robert J. “Bob” Wilson, Sr. age 85 died June 20, 2017 at Unity Hospital surrounded by his family. He was born September 20, 1931 in Olean, NY, a son of the late David and Nora (Calkins) Wilson and had lived in this area for 65 years. Bob was a United States Army Veteran serving in the Korean War. He was a member and Past Commander of the Jewell Buckman Post #529 American Legion as well as serving as Past Commander for Orleans County. He was a member of St. Mary’s Church, Catholic Charities, St. Vincent DePaul Society and the Knights of Columbus. Bob had been active in the Holley Fire Department for over 60 years and was a Boy Scout Leader for Troop #24. He was a Union Member for Local 13 working as a plumber for Ancoma in Rochester. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and was also a member of the Woodsman Club. He was predeceased by his wife Patricia Ann in 2002; 3 brothers and a sister. Bob is survived by his children Robert (Donna Merrell) Wilson, Jr. of Brockport, Terry (Marla) Wilson of FL, Rebecca (Kevin Metzger) Ciluffo of Holley, Mary Jo Murray of Portville, NY; 11 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; his sisters Delores Ripple of Friendship, NY, Patricia DeFilipps of Holley, Carol Glasspool of FL, Kathleen Brien of Brockport and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at the Christopher Mitchell Funeral Homes, Inc. 16650 State Rte. 31 Holley on Monday June 26th 2-4 & 6-9 where prayers will be said Tuesday June 27th at 9am followed by his Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary’s Church at 9:30am. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery with Full Military Honors. Memorials may be made to the organization of one’s choice.
