Obituary of Robert C. Wood Robert C. Wood of Middleport passed away Friday, November 29, 2013 at the Odd Fellows and Rebekah Health Care Center in Lockport, NY. Mr. Wood was born in Buffalo, NY on June 9, 1932 son of the late Charles and Audrey (Phillips) Wood and he has lived in Middleport all of his life and he attended Royalton-Hartland School. He joined the US Navy in January of l951 and served on the USS Oriskany and was honorably discharged in December of l954. Mr. Wood worked for the New York Telephone Company in Lockport and upon retirement he and his wife Beverly, for many years, enjoyed spending winters at their Florida home. Mr. Wood had a number of hobbies which included woodworking and stained glass work. He was predeceased by his wife Beverly Wood on April 6, 2013 and a brother Kenneth Wood. He is survived by a son Gary Wood (Joanie Smith) of Albion, and a daughter Pam Caldwell (Thomas Smith) of Lockport, a granddaughter Jaimelyn (Derek) Bator and a grandson Michael Caldwell. Also surviving is a sister Marlene Eggert of Florida, a brother-in-law Roger Butler of Florida and several nieces and nephews. There will be no prior visitation. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Memorials to the Royalton Hartland Community Library would be appreciated by the Wood family.
