Obituary of Roger B. Fuller Roger B. Fuller was born on November 3, 1924 in Middleport, New York, was raised in Medina and lived and worked for 60 years back in Middleport. He passed away on September 21, 2011 in Parrish, Florida. Roger attended Medina High School until drafted in to World War II in 1942. He served in the 164th Infantry in the Pacific fighting the Japanese in the battles for the Phillipines, Guadalcanal, Bouganville, Cebu, Negros, Leyte and on in to Japan. He received a Bronze Star for Valor in Guadalcanal. When he returned home he married his sweetheart, Freida Poehlmann. Roger spent 50 years working at E & M Enterprises in Middleport where he worked for 4 different owners in the same building starting on the floor of the machine shop and ending his career as General Manager. He spent many years on the Orleans County Planning Board and was a long time member, elder and trustee of Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Middleport.
Roger was preceded in death by his loving wife of 54 years, Frieda; brothers Jay Dewitt, Glenn and Norm Fuller; sisters Mildred Patterson and Louretta Anderson. He is survived by his wife, Lucy; son, Thomas (Kim) Fuller of Medina, daughter, Linda (Daryl) Johnson of Middleport; grandchildren, Thomas(Jennifer)Fuller of Georgia; Regina (Mike) Turner of Florida; Matthew and Hans Johnson of Middleport; great-granddaughters, Kaitlyn and Alyssa Fuller and Stephanie Turner and great-grandson, Derek Turner. Also by brothers John, Jim, Elroy, Huck, Gordon and Tom Fuller and sisters, Catherine Bolton of Ontario, New York, Ceci Wilson and Rosemary Pray of Medina and many nieces and nephews.
Roger was a member of VFW Post 1483 and American-Legion Post 938. Memorials may be made to Roger's church at Faith Lutheran Church,9608 US 301 North, Parrish, FL 34219
Friends may call Tuesday from 2 to 4 PM and 7 to 9 PM at the Bates, Wallace & Heath Funeral Home, 38 State St., Middleport where funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11:00 AM..
Members of Clute Phillips American Legion Post #938 will meet at the funeral home Tuesday at 7 PM
Burial will be in Hartland Central Cemetery
