Roy D. Bannister

Obituary of Roy D. Bannister (KENT) Roy D. Bannister, age 91 of Point Breeze Road, died 8/31/11 in Strong Memorial Hospital surrounded by his family, following injuries sustained from a fire in his home on 8/24/11. He was born 12/31/18 in West Barre to John and Pearl(Bishop)Bannister and was a lifetime resident of this area. Mr. Bannister was a US Naval Veteran of WWII achieving the rank of Ensign. Roy was a graduate of Cornell University, Past President of the Albion School Board, and taught in many school districts in NY including Holland,(where he began,) Lyndonville, Royalton Hartland and finally in Hilton where he retired from in 1976. Mr. Bannister was also a farmer, electrician and an artist-having painted many watercolors for people in this area and abroad. One of his primary physicians at Strong said, "..he could well be the last Renaissance Man." Roy was also an avid reader however it was said that, " his best occupation was Dad!"
