Obituary of Roy Roger Schumacher Roy Roger Schumacher of Brockport, formerly of Gasport, age 78, passed away unexpectedly at his home on September 7, 2021. He was born May 18, 1943 in Hume, NY to the late Henry and Pearl (Morgan) Schumacher. Roy was proud to have visited all 50 States with his wife Carolyn. Together they enjoyed traveling, going on cruises, and camping. Roy was a family man who adored his grandchildren dearly. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his siblings, Judy (Earl) Weaver, Robert, Duane, grandson Roger, fathers-in-law, Helmuth Remus and Peter Austin, and sister-in-law, Barbara (Jerry) Donaldson. Roy is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Carolyn, children, Roy Jason (Angela), Alison (Terry) Schleede, Carl (Beth), Brian (Jessica), 18 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, siblings, Allan, Paul (Linda), sister-in-law, Jane Schumacher, mother-in-law, Alice Remus, brothers-in-law, Robert (Maurean) Austin, David (Cindy) Remus, Richard (Barbara) Remus, sister-in-law, Valorie (Tony) Ellis, aunt, Linda Boyatzies, as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins. The family will receive friends at the Bates, Wallace & Heath Funeral Home, 38 State St. Middleport, NY 14105 on Friday, September 10th from 12:00-2:00pm and 4:00-6:00pm where his memorial service will immediately follow at 6:00pm. Military honors will be accorded after the service. Mr. Schumacher’s family encourages those in attendance to please wear a mask.
