Ruth M. Drew

Obituary of Ruth M. Drew (ALBION) Ruth Bloomfield McMahon Drew, 86, of Albion, passed away April 15, 2018 peacefully, with her family by her side. She was the wife of Kenneth E. Drew, with whom she just celebrated their 67th wedding anniversary. Ruth was born in Buffalo on June 6, 1931 to E. Harvey and Irene (Burt) McMahon. Ruth graduated from Albion High School in 1949 and then attended RIT. At 44 years old, she pursued her life-long dream of becoming a nurse and began attending the Catherine McCauley School of Nursing in Batavia, NY. It was there that she went on to earn her LPN. After her nursing career, she became Deputy Clerk for the Town of Gaines and eventually would become Town Clerk for many years before retiring. Ruth was a member of Gaines Congregational Church. In her younger years, she enjoyed fishing, camping and snowmobiling. She loved gardening, cooking, entertaining, traveling and spending time with her friends and family. Ruth was a life-long Buffalo Bills fan. She also loved to read and spend time at the library. She enjoyed her regular get-togethers with her classmates; The 49’ers. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Ruth is survived by her loving husband: Kenneth E. Drew, now residing at Elderwood at Brockport, her daughters: Deborah (Dan) Radzinski of Spencerport, Cynthia R. Drew of Dover, DE, her son: Kevin (Marilyn) Drew of Medina, grandchildren: Ryan Radzinski, Mary K. Radzinski, James Verhagen, Jennifer (Bryan) Frasier, Laura (Ian) Whitcroft, Heather Drew, great grandchildren: Madison & Emma Frasier, Kenneth Whitcroft, Ruthie & Logan Hapeman. The family will receive friends at the Christopher Mitchell Funeral Homes, Inc. 21 West Avenue-Albion, THURSDAY 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Family and friends are invited to attend Ruth’s Memorial Service FRIDAY at 12 Noon in the Gaines Congregational Church, 14023 Ridge Road W, Albion, NY.
