Ruth Blanchard Larimer

Obituary of Ruth Blanchard Larimer Ruth Blanchard Larimer (Schnitzer) passed away peacefully December 2, 2010. She was preceded in death by her husband, William F. Larimer.
Ruth was the loving mother to Constance F. Cozzoni, her husband Michael and grandmother to Rosa Claire and Elizabeth Ruth.
Ruth graduated from Albion High School in 1942 and went on to attend Hiram College in Ohio and eventually graduating from Keuka College with her BSN in nursing. She joined the Army and served as an Army nurse for over 4 years where she met and married William F. Larimer in 1948. She spent the ensuing years as wife to Bill and mother to Constance and travelled the world with Bill to his postings with the Army and then the I.R.S. eventually retiring to her family home here in Albion in 1976. Due to unforeseen circumstances she and Bill moved in with her daughter and their family in the summer of 2001. Ruth was a very proud long time member of the D.A.R. Orleans Chapter and had been quite active in that organization for years. She served on the Mount Albion Board of Trustees for several years and worked in the cemetery office for a time. Ruth was very active in the Albion Class of 1942 Alumni group and for many years helped to plan the reunions of her class and always enjoyed the time spent with her classmates and friends. Ruth loved a good book, a challenging crossword puzzle, a spirited debate, and a good football or basketball game. She was devoted to her husband and family and took great pride in their accomplishments.
