Obituary of Ruth A. Starkweather Ruth “Ruthie” A. Starkweather, of Albion, was called home to our Lord on Wed., Aug. 15th, 2018, age 83, in the care of Hospice of Orleans. Born May 6th 1935, to Dewey and Florence Groters, Ruth to all who knew her, was a kind and caring induvial who touched the lives of all who knew her. Ruth grew up in Hilton, NY. She married Edwin “Jim” Starkweather, together they made their home in Albion, NY and raised three loving daughters. She enjoyed her work and co-workers and gained satisfaction from serving students in the cafeteria for over 25 years at Albion Central School. She was a member of Holy Family Parish/St. Joseph’s Church. She loved to play cards, spending time in her garden, and socializing with friends. She had a passion for dogs, especially Shih Tzu dogs. Ruth was also a tremendous baker. She enjoyed time with her family and especially loved and enjoyed spending time with her great-grandkids and will be greatly missed by all. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dewey and Florence Groters; sister Bertha; and her husband Edwin. She is survied by her daughters, Cindy Starkweather, Valorie Blums, and Dorinda Starkweather, two grandaughters Angela (Travis) Fox, and Megan (Don) Coty, and several great-grandchilcdren. The family will receive friends at Christopher Mitchell Funeral Homes, Inc. 21 West Ave. Albion, on Monday from 2:00pm-4:00pm where her Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday at 10am. Burial will be in Mt. Albion Cemetery.
