Obituary of Sherry A. Strauss Sherry A. Strauss (Pond) age 82, of Gasport, entered into rest on Thursday, April 26, 2012 at her home. Born February 18, 1930 in Detroit, Michigan, Sherry was the daughter of the late Edward and Nora (McCloskey) Pond. Sherry married Richard Strauss July 27, 1968 in Denver, Colorado. Mr. Strauss died June 17, 1998. She had worked at WJJL radio Station in Niagara Falls, NY as a salesperson. After retiring from the radio station, she and her husband, Richard, opened and operated the “Keg” Restaurant in Gasport from 1975 until 1997. Sherry is survived by her brother, Terrance Pond of San Francisco, California and Gerald (Jackie) Pond of Cottonwood, Arizona. Sherry was predeceased by her brothers: Charles E. Pond, Edward G. Pond, Gregory R. Pond and a sister, Mary Lou Pond. There will be no prior visitation. Services will be held at the convenience of the family.
