US Army Specialist Jason M. Johnston, age 24, stationed at Ft. Bragg, NC, died suddenly December 26, 2009 while defending his Nation in Afghanistan. He was born in Rochester December 10, 1985 to Brad and Jeanine(Schicker)Johnston and had lived in Albion most of his life. Jason was a United States Army Specialist E-4 serving with the 2nd Battalion, 508th Parachute Infantry Regiment of the 82nd Airborne Division, 4th Regimental Combat Team. He was also a member of the American Legion, the VFW, Holy Family Parish-St. Joseph's Church, and the Albion Fire Department. Jason enjoyed Country music, cowboy hats, and liked to sing, dance, and be goofy-causing people to smile and laugh. He cherished his friends and his sisters and had always wanted to be a soldier. Jason loved what he was doing?he felt it his duty to serve his Country.
