Obituary of Stanley Landauer (FLORIDA/ALBION) Stanley J. Landauer, Jr., age 86, of Gainesville, Florida formerly of Albion, died March 23rd, 2015 after an extended illness. Mr. Landauer (known as "Skip") was born on December 28, 1928 in Waterbury, CT, the son of the late Stanley J. and Helen Gray Landauer. He received is Associates Degree in Retailing from the Rochester Institute of Technology in 1950 and joined the family business, Landauer's Department Store in Albion, New York. Skip would go on to run Landauer's with his later brother, Donald, before moving to Florida in 1981 where he would start a new career in Commercial Real Estate. Skip was an active member and former President of the local Rotary International club, having been recognized as a Paul Harris Fellow. He was also an avid golfer and tennis player. Skip was predeceased by his brother Donald, step brother Dale Burdett, sons David, John, and Steve, and grand daughter Sarah. He is survived by his son, Peter (Leslie) Landauer, his daughter Julie(Jeff)Rheinwald, step-daughter Denise (Cary) Turman , and grandchildren Shane, John, Michael, Jessica, Rachael, Jacob, Laura, and Elizabeth. The Family will receive friends at the Christopher Mitchell Funeral Homes, Inc. 21 West Avenue-Albion, FRIDAY APRIL 10 from 6-8pm ONLY. Mr. Landauer will be laid to rest in Mt. Albion Cemetery during a private ceremony at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the local Rotary Club of your choice. Visitation
